After discovering to be more lucrative butt less physically tough, famers of Lanao Del Norte found a new alternative with seaweed growing.

Farmers of Lanao Del Norte decided to shift to seaweed growing after the full support given by their provincial government and also the technical assistance from the Department of Science and Technology (DoST).

Bamboo Organ Festival

The Bamboo Organ Foundation, Inc. is had prepared for the 36th edition of the International Bamboo Organ Festival of Las Piñas entitled "Philippine Historic Music Festival." This yearly event happened last February 17-23 at the world renowned Bamboo Organ, the Philippine National Treasure. Wage Increase and Benefits for S&T Professionals

DOST Scholar Won Gallieno Denardo Award

The International Commission for Optics (ICO) and the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) gave the Gallieno Denardo Award to young researchers (below 40 years old) from developing countries. Those researchers are active in research in optics, and have contributed to the promotion of research activities in their own. Dr. Ryan Balili finished his B.S. Physics at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) last 2002.

Cayetano L. Arellano

Cayetano L. Arellano was born on March 2, 1847, in Orion, Bataan. He is the son of Don Servando Arellano and Doña Crisfora Lonzon, Cayetano L. Arellano. They are one of the most renowned jurists in the country. Cayetano is a diligent young man. He completed his primary education at the Colegio de San Pedro y San Pablo and his secondary education at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

DOST Recognizes Young Achievers through YES Awards

With an aim to give recognition to young achievers in international science and mathematics competition,

Department of Science and Technology (DOST), region 10 awards three young outstanding pupils from Northern Mindanao.

2 Pinoy Scientists in 5th Novartis International BioCamp

Ms. Karen Rosal, who completed her Master of Science in Molecular Biology at Okayama University in Japan and Mr. Carlo Castillo, who is currently taking up Master of Science in Molecular Medicine at St. Luke's College of Medicine. They are the 2 young Filipino scientists who represented the country in the prestigious Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp).
