A new anti-malaria vaccine has been developed by a Filipino scientist at the John Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Time Magazine cited the work of Rhoel Dinglasan who is an entomologist and a biologist.

Dinglasan formulated this new malaria vaccine that immobilizes the spread of mosquito's malaria spreading capability.

With Dinglasan's vaccine, that contains antigen AnAPN1, antibodies are created that stop transmission of malaria by mosquitoes. When a mosquito bites a vaccinated person, the antibodies are transferred to the mosquito, which then losses the ability to infect other humans.

This new malaria vaccine is another invention that gave pride to Filipino people. [via time.com]
