Are you going to laugh at the wonders of this plant? Some of the Filipinos claimed that this plant called Euphorbia hirta or simply "tawa-tawa" has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Some doctors would say that tawa-tawa can be beneficial to us because it can be an antidote for dengue and tuberculosis. Certainly, nobody had proved that the plant has medical significance. To discern the medicinal effects of tawa-tawa, the medical researchers from the government will continue to conduct a study that will reveal the healing properties of this plant. The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and its R & D counterpart - the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) will assent studies that will prove that tawa-tawa's main ingredient has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties which means that it can upsurge blood platelets, vital in the treatment of dengue. |
