In the recent Nation Inventions Contest held at Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City last Nov. 17-21, Rolando dela Cruz of the Famed DeWart and DeMole Skin Care Prodcuts, developed the new cream that can treat basal cell carcinoma (BCC), the most common type of skin cancer, by non-invasive, direct application. Though introduced for the first time in the country, the new product, which is called DeBCC, picked up awards in the invention tilts abroad. As part of the prize from the Department of Science and Technology, Dela Cruz received P150,000. Other winners are the following: Husban and Wife Team of Vigilioand Yasmin Malang got second place with P100,000 for their Rapid Rice Beer, beer made from rice syrup. Antonio Mateo got third place with P50,000 for his Multi-Purpose Handicapped Wheel Chair, a highly hospital or hospice gadget. The inventors' products are now put in the market to realize its benefits by the people.
