DOSt (Department of science and Technology) is promoting the new product of Roxas City to help the country cope with the global economic crunch for the benefit of consumers and producers alike. This new product is the new pan de sal baked using composite flour made up of wheat and squash or camote, which are known to contain Vitamin A and other vital nutrients. In the recent Sinadya sa Halaran Festival, the city government is working with an educational institution, Hercor College of Businessman and educator Jose Hernandez to popularize the enriched pan de sal. In addition, aside with this squash pan de sal, DOST is also promoting the canton noodles made from composite flour which is also involving squash. [via PIA] |
