Dr. Bienvenido Nebres contributed greatly to the development of higher mathematics teaching in the nation, as president of the Mathematical Society of the Philippines for a number of years. He is one of the primary living mathematicians at the moment. He has published some 15 documents in pure mathematics and in mathematics education.
He was born on March 15, 1940. Dr. Nebres was previously President of the Southeast Asian Mathematical Society and is at present member of the Executive Council on behalf of the Philippines in this Society.
