Dr. Clare Baltazar has always sustained exceptionally high principles of accomplishment during her academic years. She was born on November 1, 1927. Her several publications on Philippine Insects particularly on Philippine Hymenoptera are very noteworthy to Science for they lay the Groundwork for future biological management in the Philippines. Dr. Baltazar book Philippine Insects is the first reliable book on Philippine insects. Discoveries of 8 and one subgenus of Hymenoptera and 108 new species of the Philippine parasitic Wasp’s are Dr. Baltazar other important contributions to Science.
With all this triumph, Dr. Baltazar is well renowned here and out of the country. She accepted the Rizal Pro Patria Award in Entomology in 1980.
